Audiotour Painter Henrik Siravyan

Henrik Siravyan /co-author of fresco/

 (1928 Yerevan- 2001 Yerevan)

1928 – born in Yerevan 1943-1948 – studied in the Art College, named after P.Terlemezian (Yerevan). 1948-1954 – studied at the painting department of the Institute of Fine Arts and Drama (Yerevan). Since 1954 – participant of republican, Transcaucasian, all-union and international exhibitions (Portugal, Denmark, Argentine, France, Austria, Italy). 1954-1955 – under the guidance of L.Dournovo, with a group of artists took part in the restoration of Echmiadzin Cathedral frescos. 1958-1966 – worked in M.Sarian’s studio Under his leadership and on the basis of Sarian’s works created “Armenia” panel in the foyer of the drama theater, named after Soundukian and “Armenia” triptych stained-glass window in the foyer of the Small Philharmonic Hall (Yerevan). Later on he performed a number of monumental-decorative works: mounting of the cupola of Komitas’ Museum (Echmiadzin theological seminary) along with H.Hakobian and A.Melkonian frescos “By the Spring” and “Hunting” in the Palace of Culture of the Kakhsi village in Hrazdan region, “Armenia” triptych-panel in the foyer of the presidium of the Writers’ House for Armenia, “The past and present of Bzhni”, fresco in the foyer of Bzhni Palace of Culture; decoration of Eghegnadzor on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Gladzor University; fresco “Armenian song” in the foyer of the Choral society, etc. The works are kept in Modern Art Museum (Yerevan), in the museums and galleries of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, etc., private collections in different foreign countries.
