Museum-info
Over het museum
The magnum opus and the best example of Dravidian architecture.
A temple dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. The times when it was built was the largest of its kind. The main sanctum and the deity were also the largest at about 12.5 feet in height. It is huge by any imagination as the size usual norms for a Shiva lingam is around 1 to 2 feet.
The entire temple is made of granite stone and built using the interlocking mechanism.
