Audio tour SummaryUpdate Required To play the media you will need to either update your browser to a recent version or update your Flash plugin.Welcome to the Jewish walking tour of Berlin, a project produced by Centropa and the Jewish Heritage Network as part of the project Jewish History Tours, co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility program of the European Commission. My name is Edward Serotta and we are about to spend about 90 minutes together—unless you want to stop into the Centrum Judaicum (or go back to it afterwards)—and we’re going to tell you about Berlin Mitte and its Jewish history: its tumultuous rise, the way it teemed with life, it’s tragic destruction. Every one of the addresses we’re about to see is worthy of a PhD thesis—or several of them—but let’s be realistic and we’re going to tell you the main points and share with you some relevant stories. Then at the end of this walking tour app, you’ll find slightly longer descriptions of many of these addresses—and why they’re so important.
