Over het museum

During World War II Anne Frank had to go into hiding to avoid the Nazi persecution of Jews. But she was discovered and died in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany. Thanks to the publication of her diary, her story is known worldwide. The diary of Anne Frank has now been translated into 70 languages. The place where she hid from 1942 to 1944 is called the Annexe and is part of our museum. You can see the original diary of Anne Frank, which she wrote while she was in hiding, in the museum. The museum tells you about the conditions in which the eight people in hiding lived and who helped them. The information about the museum and exhibition is in Dutch and English. A museum guide in your language is available at the entrance.
