Welcome to the exhibition Drawn to Nature. From the City to the Forest.

In this exhibition, we escape the bustle of the city and venture into nature: from tranquil woodland edges and characterful trees to beautifully flowering plants and animals in their natural habitats.

The artists featured here show how, for centuries, they have ventured outdoors to observe and capture nature directly and attentively. Lithography proved to be a powerful medium for recording these fleeting impressions, as can be seen in the work of renowned artists such as Theo van Hoytema, Simon Moulijn, and M.C. Escher. The exhibition also highlights the work of lesser-known artists, including Antje Egter van Wissekerke and Ina Rahusen.

Let this exhibition inspire you through its beautiful depictions of nature and discover how it encourages us to step outside and experience the natural world for ourselves. Look at the landscape around you with fresh eyes, for even in and around Valkenswaard, in the dynamic Brainport region, nature is always close at hand.

In collaboration with De Groote Heide, a cycling route has been developed that leads visitors past a series of monumental trees in the landscape, each with its own unique story. In this way, we invite you to set out and experience nature up close.
