Audio tour All Aboard! Railroading in Newark

Railroads were important to the commercial and cultural development of Newark, Delaware. At the height of rail travel, Newark was served by three railroads that crossed the town: the Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad (later the Pennsylvania Railroad) in the south, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in the north, and the Newark & Pomeroy Railroad passing north to south through the center of town. Along with the railroads came the telegraph, and the ability to communicate quickly across long distances. Newark History Museum's permanent exhibit "All Aboard! Railroading in Newark" explores the history of these three railroads. The audio tour is narrated by Sylett Strickland.

The audio on this tour was so much better than some of the other tours you offer. Great information on the telegraph.

The Morse Code photos and stories are fascinating unique bits of Newark history. I can't wait to visit the museum the next time I'm in Newark.
