About the museum

Welcome to Cambridge Stores Heritage Centre, where an eclectic mix of artifacts collected over the past 150 years from the Richmond region are displayed. Preservation of the region’s heritage is important, and through displaying local artifacts within the Cambridge Stores Heritage Centre, this heritage is also able to shared and enjoyed by the visiting generations. Visitors are able to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by the early settlers of the region.

This tour will provide a glimpse into some of the artifacts on display. Some of these are in the main Cambridge Stores replica building, and others are located at the rear of the property in the stables and shed. I encourage you to further explore other exhibits during your visit.

This is a good insight into life in outback Queensland seen through the interpretation of items in the Cambridge Downs Heritage Centre. The narrative is well researched and includes interesting local stories.
