Novogrudok is a Belarusian town with a rich thousand-year history and a heritage that remains to this day. As the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, this town has attracted attention and interest from time immemorial. But did you know that it was the Jewish population that developed the town's economy, architecture and culture?
Jews appeared in the town as early as the 15th century, making it a Jewish settlement. The entire historic centre of Novogrudok was filled with Jewish shops, houses, schools and hospitals. The difficulty of bringing to life the past is somewhat overcome with film (if available) photos and stories . This audio tours scores very well with a good commentary supported by interesting stories of the past. Perhaps some artists' impressions would be very welcome to add to the atmosphere. Otherwise a more than satisfactory audio tour.
